Obedience training is critical for healthy and happu human-animal relationship. You need them to follow the basic elements – sit, down, stay, come, heel – and you also need to feel comfortable together in any environment.
Many new dog owners are disappointed when they realize that dogs are not naturally the well-behaved companions seen in films. Like children, dogs require boundaries and to be shown consistent, good direction and patience.
Training helps you and your furry friend to develop:
· A much closer bond and better communication skills
· A well-grounded and social dog that you can trust to behave
· A safer dog, around other people and other dogs
There are other benefits as dogs that are well trained are typically happier and healthier dogs.
To give some sense as to what a well-trained dog doesn’t do they don’t:
· Jump on people
· Beg at the table
· Trouble guests
· Ignore basic commands such as sit, come and stay
· Pull on the leash
· Bark or whine excessively
· Bite or show other signs of aggressive behaviour
An investment of your time into training your dog as they grow up will set the foundations for a long and happy relationship.
